About Dugutigui

In the “Diula” language in Mali, the term « dugutigui » (chief of the village), literally translated, means: «owner of the village»; «dugu» means village and «tigui», owner. Probably the term is the result of the contraction of «dugu kuntigui» (literally: chief of the village).

Thank you for posting my poem, which matches your beautiful pictures so well. FYI, the poem is now part of a collection called “I Am An African” and another photography book called “African Dream”. More info on my website under Books if you’re interested.

Thanks to you for your message. A pleasure to have an “African” around… I miss Africa quite a lot, our immensely rich cosmos!
I’m creating a link to your site! Thanks again!
